The Gikoku Family, known formally as the "House of Dragons", is the hierarchical family that has ruled over Kyloto hundreds of years before the foundation of the Compendium. It is a known fact that every member of the family has been involved in a large-scale event in history.

History

Precursors

Gikoku was the very first known by the name.

Genten Gukoku is the only known son of Gikoku.

Era of the Conquerors

Origin Gikoku was the son of Genten Gikoku. Known as the Black Flame, Origin set out on a world-wide conquest. He commissioned the construction of the Ultimate Weapon.

Netsu Gikoku was the only known son of Origin Gikoku.

Otosan Gikoku was the only known son of Netsu Gikoku.

Era of the House of Krakens

Tetsu Gikoku was the eldest son of Otosan Gikoku. He was known as the "Iron King" for discovering the Great Iron Mine, a gargantuan complex filled with iron. During his reign, the Gikoku line was known as the "House of Krakens". He was a founding member of the Templar Order.

Hagane Gikoku was the second son of Otosan Gikoku. He took charge over the Great Iron Mines while Tetsu ruled Kyloto.

Era of the House of Roses

Natsumi Gikoku was the only daughter of Tetsu Gikoku. She became known as "Queen of the Roses" due to her association with roses and the colour pink. She fought against the Golden Hive of Hormida in the fifty-year long Golden War. During her reign, the Gikoku family was referred to as the "House of Roses".

Silver Gikoku was the only son of Tetsu Gikoku. While Natsumi ruled over Kyloto, Silver took charge of the Dominion's Great Iron Forge, a mysterious, gargantuan complex deep in the earth beneath south-western Old Kyloto (Now part of Kratonia). After his sister's disappearance, Silver took charge over the country, though he never accepted the throne, as by technicality his sister was still Empress.

Era of the House of Dragons

Hai Gikoku was the eldest son of Silver Gikoku. Following his father's death, he was murdered by his younger brother, incorrectly believing that Hai would inherit the throne.

Gorudo Gikoku was the second son of Silver Gikoku. He murdered his older brother so he could the throne for himself, though by proxy it never originally belonged to either of them, making Gorudo's rule unofficial. He was killed in a campaign led by his eldest daughter, Tsubaki. He was known for his greed, gluttony and cruelty, earning him the nickname, "the Greedy King". During his reign, the Gikoku family recieved its current name, the "House of Dragons".

Sumire Gikoku was the only daughter of Silver Gikoku.

Era of the Rebellion

Tsubaki Gikoku was the eldest daughter of Gorudo Gikoku. She killed her father, Gorudo, in a campaign to remove him from power. It is unknown how she died.

Kuru Gikoku is the second daughter of Gorudo Gikoku. She is the leader of a movement known as the Myriad. She is currently the oldest surviving Gikoku.

Kirameku Gikoku was the first son of Gorudo Gikoku, and was a supporter of his regime. He was temporarily exiled by Tsubaki following Gorudo's death. He was poisoned by his second son, Shinratsu, to keep him from power.

Kaen Gikoku was the second son of Gorudo Gikoku. Kaen founded the High Tower to keep out invading Sabarians after a large conflict between Kyloto and an invading force of Sabarians.

Era of the Warring Kings

Kyojaku Gikoku was the son of Tsubaki Gikoku. He was known for being a frail leader, and was eliminated by Shinratsu Gikoku, beginning the Kylotean Throne Wars.

Hageru Gikoku was the first son of Kirameku Gikoku. He opposed his younger brother for control of the throne of Kyloto, eventually killing him and securing his place as Overlord. He eventually overthrown by his cousin, Kenran. He was born with White Kylotism, the first for a Gikoku.

Shinratsu Gikoku was the second son of Kirameku Gikoku. He orchestrated the assassination of Kyojaku in order to take the throne for himself, but was eventually slain himself by his elder brother, Hageru.

Garando Gikoku was the third son of Kirameku Gikoku. He fought Hageru's forces for control of Kyloto. He was slain by Hageru.

Teishoku Gikoku was the fourth son of Kirameku Gikoku. He fought Hageru's forces for control of Kyloto. He was killed by Hormidae assassins.

Kenran Gikoku is the second son of Tsubaki Gikoku. He fought against the forces of Hageru, Garando and Teishoku for control of the throne, eventually succeeding by using his wit.

Kodai Gikoku was the son of Kaen Gikoku. He filled his father's position of commander of the High Tower.

Era of Ice and Fire

Haruto Gikoku was the eldest son of Kenran Gikoku. He fought against his younger twin brother, Touma, and his army in the War of Fire and Ice.

Akari Gikoku was the only daughter of Kenran Gikoku. She was loyal to her older brother, but this proved fatal when she was killed in the War of Fire and Ice by Touma.

Touma Gikoku was the second son of Kenran Gikoku. He was known as "Hageru's blight", as he shared his White Kylotism with his late uncle. He was known as the "Ice King" as he seemed to be able to use ice instead of the natural Kylotean fire. After taking over the colder south regions of Kyloto, Touma fought against Haruto in a battle known as the War of Fire and Ice.

Kusari Gikoku was the son of Kodai Gikoku, and was the commander of the High Tower, a battle tower in the western-most point of Old Kyloto (Now part of Kratonia), which served to defend Kyloto from attacks from the Sabarians.

Due to the build of both their armies, Haruto and Touma are the only Overlords of Kyloto to have ruled at the same time, but only had control of the north and the south, respectively, at that time.

Era of the Tyrants

Oryosha Gikoku was the first son of Haruto Gikoku. Inspired by his deceased uncle, Oryosha led a conquest against Haphae.

Yokubari Gikoku was the first son of Oryosha Gikoku. He led a successful campaign against Asteria, where he secured many slaves.

Keimusho Gikoku, also known as the Mad Tyrant of Kyloto, was a previous head of the Gikoku Family, and was Yokubari's eldest son. He was known for starting the Compendium War, in an attempt to take over the developing Helios. He was killed by Sabal-Ion Enoshima and Nearan Visarion.

Mezameru Gikoku was the second son of Yokubari. He was known for attempting to challenge the rule of his older brother, and was exiled. He and his supporters made an alliance with the then-Lord-Master of Besmarka, Brand Glasera. Mezameru and Brand were both killed by a mystery threat. It is not known if Mezameru had any children.

Nezumi Karai, born Nezumi Gikoku, was the only daughter of Haruto Gikoku. She married Hideo Karai.

Era of the Vengeful Kings

Myobatsu Gikoku was the son of Keimusho Gikoku. A vengeful leader, Myobatsu started the Payback War to reinstate Kylotean power and push back the Asterian oppressors. He only succeeded in the former.

Sageru Gikoku was the first son of Myobatsu Gikoku. Sageru attempted to live up to his father's legacy and began the Southern War in a bid to finally defeat the Asterian forces, as well as the new Meropian settlers, now known as Kratonians. He later engaged in a second personal war with Kratonia.

Senkyoshi Gikoku was the previous head of the Gikoku Family, as Sageru's eldest son. Senkyoshi was known for taking back the power of the Gikoku family from the Asterians during their time in poverty and enslavement. Senkyoshi gathered together the nation and sparked what is known as the Grudge War, a revenge war against Asteria and Haphae. Despite his successes, h was betrayed by his younger brother, Uragiri, which resulted in his death.

Uragiri Gikoku is the second son of Sageru. He was known for assisting his older brother during the Grudge War. Eventually, Uragiri developed an interest in taking the throne for himself, and betrayed Senkyoshi to the Asterians, in exchange for clemency, rewards, and an agreement to end the war. Uragiri soon rose to power, but was quickly discovered by his nephew, Shen Gikoku, who killed him by cutting off his head. His head was sent to the Asterians as a threat. Uragiri bore no children.

Koga Karai was the only son of Nezumi Karai and Hideo Karai. He was murdered by his relative, Louxia.

Era of the Pureborn

Shen Gikoku is the current head of the Gikoku Family, as Senkyoshi's eldest son, and thus is the current ruler of Kyloto. Shen came into power at the age of 18, after he murdered his uncle, Uragiri, who had claimed the throne after betraying and causing the death of Senkyoshi.

Louxia Chōuyān (born Rukio Gikoku) is the second son of Senkyoshi. Rukio turned his back on the family, changing his name to Louxia to reflect on his choice. He later delved into piracy, where he founded the Kemuri Pirates. Louxia and his crew are a currently feared crew who have amassed a strong fleet. Despite his title and legacy, he serves under the Pirate King, Ryloth Onyx. His flag is based around the Gikoku name during Tetsu's reign, resembling a Kraken and crossbones. He is known to have murdered his relatives Fanren and Koga Karai.

Fanren Gikoku is the only daughter of Senkyoshi. She was killed by Louxia following unknown circumstances.

Yuri Karai is the daughter of Koga Karai. She is currently in hiding.

Future

It is known that Shen will eventually be succeeded by his son, Oda Gikoku. He is the first Gikoku since Origin to be recorded on having black skin, an extremely rare phenomenon in Kylotean society.

Illegitimate Family Members

Kenji Kaneko was the bastard son of Kusari Gikoku. He took over Kusari's role after his death. He was reported to have been killed by Solgus. It is unknown if he had any children.

Touken Gikoku is the bastard son of Touma Gikoku. He was named after his father.

Seishin Gikoku is the son of Touken Gikoku. He was named as such as a reminder of his father and grandfather's anger at the rest of the Gikoku family.

Shiryo Gikoku is the son of Seishin Gikoku. His whereabouts are unknown.

Secret Family Members

Saga Gikoku was the son of Natsumi Gikoku. He chose not to inherit the throne. Saga later became a ronin.

Etsuko Gikoku is the son of Saga Gikoku. Knowing of his heritage, Etsuko chose not to pursue the throne. In an agreement with his father and his wife, Etsuko chose to hide his own son by changing hus last name to match Enoshima own name. Etsuko changed his last name to "Enoshima" to completely obscure the true heritage of Natsumi Gikoku, in the hopes that one day a trueborn Gikoku will come into existence.

Tanzar-Ion Enoshima is the current heir to the Kylotean throne. Should he die, heritage would pass on to his first-born son, Angel-Ion.
